The Nominator Incentive

Nominate your stallions and offspring today to help shape the next generation of reining — and position their offspring to compete in dedicated Crown Jewel Nominated divisions beginning in 2030.

The idea

Reward the people behind the horse.

Great reining horses are made long before the show pen — by the stallion owners and breeders who plan each cross. The Nominator Incentive is built to reward them directly.

Beginning in 2026, owners may nominate stallions and offspring into the program. As the Founding Years complete after 2029, those nominations mature into dedicated Crown Jewel Nominated divisions starting in 2030 — a new stage where nominated offspring compete and the Nominators behind them share in the rewards.

Offspring nomination

Nominate early, pay less

Offspring nomination fees rise with age — so the earlier an offspring is nominated, the lower the fee. The deadline is October 15 of a foal's birth year.

Age at nominationNomination fee
Weanling (foal's birth year)$250
Yearling$350
2-year-old$450
3-year-old$550
Deadline October 15 of the foal's birth year. A $50 late fee applies October 16 – December 31; nominations remain available afterward at the next age-class fee. All nomination fees are non-refundable.
Two funds, one incentive
Beginning in 2030, the Crown Jewel added money from nominations is divided 60% to the Stallion Nominator fund and 40% to the Offspring Nominator fund — each awarded across the Top 5 (35 / 25 / 20 / 15 / 5%).
Eligibility follows the offspring
To compete, an offspring must be nominated and sired by a stallion that has satisfied the annual Crown Jewel Stallion Participation Requirement. Incentive eligibility follows the nominated offspring; payouts remain payable to the Nominator of record.
"Elevate the Horse" promo reel
Every nomination earns a custom "Elevate the Horse" promotional reel — produced by the Crown Jewel team and shared across social media and live streams to spotlight your stallion or offspring, plus placement in the public nomination registry.
The smart move

Early nominations encouraged

Nominations for the 2027, 2028, and 2029 Founding Years competitions may be submitted beginning in 2026 — before the applicable competition year. A nomination stays valid through the horse's competition year for the level nominated, with no annual renewal.

Lock in a lower fee

Nominate at the Founding-Year price instead of the higher competition-year fee — the difference is yours to keep.

Secure your payout rights

The Nominator of record receives any incentive the horse earns in its competition year — regardless of who owns the horse at the time of competition.

Example · born 2026

Eligible for Level 4 Open in 2029

Nominate that offspring in 2026 and pay the $250 Founding-Year fee instead of the $550 competition-year fee in 2029.

Save $300 — and keep payout rights

Example · born 2025

Eligible for Level 4 Open in 2028

Nominate that offspring in 2026 and pay the $250 Founding-Year fee instead of the $450 competition-year fee in 2028.

Save $200 — and keep payout rights
